Ruby Irene Owen Harvey Ruby Irene Owen Harvey of Ponca City died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Ponca City Medical Center. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Victoria Fishel officiating. Burial will follow in the Newkirk Cemetery. Ruby Irene Owen born July 13, 1908, in Huntington County, Ind., to Homer A.C. Owen and Entis Grace Hyatt Owen. She married Otho Liburn Harvey on Feb. 12, 1927, in Newton, Kan. She graduated from Webb City High School in 1927. She obtained a license in cosmetology, owned and operated a beauty shop in her rural home at Hewins, Kan., for 31 years. She maintained her home in Ponca City since 1985. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family and following her grandchildren's interests. Some of her other interests included gardening, flowers, family genealogy and traveling. She was a member of the Cherokee Tribe of Indians, Eastern Star for 50 years, Busy Bee Club and the Community Christian Church of Ponca City. She was a Home Demonstration Unit Leader in Hewins, Kan. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jane Harvey Payne and husband Holton; son, Jimmy Owen Harvey and wife Mary Ellen Williams Harvey; six grandsons, Holton Harvey Payne, Joe Lynn Payne, Bobby Dennis Payne, John Steven Payne, Al Warren Payne and Steve Otho Harvey; two granddaughters, Sheri Lynn Harvey Torrey and Peggy Jane Harvey; nine great-grandsons; six great-granddaughters; 12 great, great-grandsons; four great, great-granddaughters; one step grandson; three step granddaughters; nine great step granddaughters; five great step grandsons; three great, great step grandsons; and one great, great step granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband, Otho Liburn Harvey; parents HAC and Entis Owen; sisters, Beatrice Owen, Florence Owen McKeever and husband Earl, Ethel M. Owen Marchesoni and husband Jonie; brothers, Al Ira Owen, Orville Alvin Owen and wife Sue Blenden Owen, Ed Owen; and great-grandson, Christopher Culver Torrey. Her grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Memorial contributions
