Berniece Preston Harvey BLACKWELL — Berniece Preston Harvey, resident of Blackwell, died Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2006, in Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell. She was 93. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in First Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Robert Foos of Nardin Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home. Berniece Preston Harvey was born Dec. 27, 1912, in Newkirk, the daughter of Guy and Ethel Yeager Moreland. She grew up in Newkirk, graduating from Newkirk High School. On Sept. 16, 1932, she married Robert Preston in Arkansas City, Kan. They lived and raised their family in California, Kentucky and Blackwell, where she served her family as a homemaker. Following the death of her husband of 44 years, she later married Delbert Harvey on Nov. 3, 1984, in Blackwell, and they settled in Blackwell, where they were married for 18 years. Following his death, she continued to live in Blackwell. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Blackwell until ill health kept her from attending. Survivors include a son, Larry Preston and wife Jeri of Coalgate; two daughters, Kay Frazier and husband Roland of Tonkawa and Connie Shields and husband Larry of Blackwell; stepdaughters, Cheryl Marquardt and husband Steve and Kristi Trantham and husband Charles, both of Blackwell; stepsons, Joe Harvey and wife Angie of Choctaw and Trice Harvey and wife Jacque of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandchildren, Debbie Gibson and husband Steve of Edmond, Darrell Shields and wife Norman of Nardin, Deanna Barnes and husband John of Mannsfield, Scott Frazier of Tonkawa, Toni Osburn and husband David of Ponca City, and Frank Preston, Patrick Preston and Carol Seals, all of Virginia; step grandchildren, Kitty Lou Tubby, Gavin Marquardt, Zach Trantham, Ben Harvey, Dinah and Nick Harvey and Mike and Sharon Harvey; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donnie, Gene and Kyle; a sister, Margie; stepson, Larry Harvey; and a step granddaughter, Jordan Marquardt. Memorial contributions
