Margie Ann Hardin NEWKIRK — Margie Ann Hardin, longtime Newkirk resident, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 28, 2005, in Newkirk Nursing Center. She was 81. Private family burial will take place in Newkirk Cemetery. A memorial service for Mrs. Hardin will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, in the First United Methodist Church of Newkirk with the Rev. James C. Hollifield officiating. Miller-Stahl Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the funeral home Saturday from 1 until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 until 9 p.m. Margie Ann Hardin was born June 19, 1924, in Newkirk, the daughter of James Fred and Lullie Loucks Michael. She grew up and received her education in Newkirk, and she graduated with the class of 1942. While in high school she was first chair violinist in the orchestra. After graduation she attended Droughts Business College in Oklahoma City. She was then employed by the Oklahoma City Credit Bureau from 1945 until 1948. On Nov. 1, 1948 she began employment with Albright Title and Trust Company in Newkirk. She remained with the company until her retirement July 31, 1981. On April 2, 1950, Margie and Thomas Eugene Hardin were married in Newkirk, where they lived their entire married life. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Newkirk, Margie was a member of the Chancel Choir for many years. She was also a member of PEO. She had a great love of the violin and music, and she sang in a quartet with her husband, sister and brother-in-law for many years. She volunteered in church work and in her community. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Joe Cary of Newkirk; and nephew and nieces, James J. Jimmerson of Las Vegas, Nev., Cathy Cary Wilcox of Arkansas City, Kan., and Christy Cary Miller of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents; and one sister, Lorene Jimmerson. Memorial funds have
been established with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and the First
United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made to either through Eastman
