DEATH OF PETER GATES

Our old friend Peter Gates passed to his reward last Friday at the home of his son North First street. He had been poorly for years, and partially paralyzed and had been down town but rarely in the last year or so. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from Fyffe’s chapel, conducted by Rev. F. J. Stowe of the Presbyterian church and interment was in I. O. O. F. cemetery.
