Sad News for Tom P. Fry

Mrs. Catharine M. Fry mother of Tom P. Fry and Mrs. Allspaugh of this city died in the home of her daughter of Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday. She was buried at New Sharon, on Thursday Oct. 25. Mrs. Fry was 60 years of age and was one of the pioneers of Iowa. Her husband, Dr. Fry being a member of the first legislature of that state. She was a noble, truehearted Christian woman and reared a large family of useful citizenship. Mrs. Allspaugh left some weeks ago to Des Moines and was at her mother’s bedside when she passed away. Tom P. Fry was not able to attend the funeral on account of not getting the news until it was too late. Mr. Fry and Mrs. Allspaugh have the heartfelt sympathy of the many friends in this, the loss of their best earthly friend, their mother.
