IN
MEMORIUM
Again
the reaper has been in our midst and gathered for his own a young life,
leaving desolate the home once brightened by the presence of this little
one.
Charles Leroy Fox, son of Charles and Mary Fox, died at his home Tuesday
morning, March 13, 1900, of lung fever.
This little life had but just begun to bud, yet we whose privilege it
was to watch closely the unfolding, saw there great promise for the future
– earnest, diligent and loving, of a rare, sunny nature, he was
loved by all with whom he associated. For a child of seven years, his
skill as an orator and artist is not excelled in my memory. Dearly as
we loved him, sorely as we miss him, we can but bow in humble submission
to Him who has called our loved one to swell the army of the redeemed.
On this world goes weary treading,
For our darling’s dainty feet
So we loose the golden threading,
Kiss the silent mouth so sweet.
And, while other children wander
On this earth land lone and late,
With the angels over yonder
He will ever watch and wait.
Frances Miller.
