Drowned

George Ford about ninety years of age while wandering away from home was drowned in Deer Creek about two miles north of the town of that same name last Sunday. The circumstances surrounding his death indicate it an accident as the result of the old gentleman trying to cross the stream where the bank was very steep and that he slipped back striking his head on a rock, probably stunning him so he easily drowned. Mr. Ford lived in the west part of Tonkawa and leaves a wife and children to mourn his tragic end. He was buried Monday in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. The Rev. Curtis of the Baptist Church holding the services. Kind friends did all in their power to comfort the sorrowing family in this hour of their great affliction
