NELLIE EVENS DEAD.

Sunday evening after a few hours sickness, Nellie, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. J. S. Evens; born on Nov.25, 1885, died April 4,1897. She was lent to parents and friends for only a little while. She was loved by all who knew her. A large procession followed her remains to Blackwell and into the Baptist church where the pastor. M. Via, preached from Exodus 33:14. At close of, service many came forward to take a last look at the still form, beautiful in death, as she lay in her coffined home. Tears flowed freely from the eyes of many a schoolmate as they looked for the last time in the face of their school friend-Teacher, schoolmates and friends tearfully said good-bye, and she was carried to the cemetery and laid away to rest.
When we see a bud of promise snatched from earth in early bloom. How it fills the heart with anguish, and pervades the home with gloom. But know we not in all our sorrow, when life must end, we cannot tell, yet, ‘tis God that hath bereft us, and he doeth all things well.
From snares of earth Nellie is free. She dwells on yon celestial plain. Then comfort take and weep no more, what is your sad loss is her great gain. [Block 149 Lot 1 Space 3]
