J.W. ECKERT DEAD

J.W. Eckert died at his home two miles west of this city, Monday of this week of typhoid fever. Mr. Eckert had been sick for a number of weeks, but his death is a shock to relatives and friends who hoped to the last for the eleventh hour rally that frequently comes with that disease. Mr. Eckert was one of our well-known farmers, and with his wife had an extensive acquaintance in this community. He was a member of the Eagles and the Fraternal Aid of this city, and quite a number of each order attended the funeral from this city. The funeral services were held at the family residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and was attended by a large crowd of neighbors and friends. Rev. T. S. Hawley of the Presbyterian church conduction the services and interment was in the cemetery south of town. Mrs. Eckert and the other relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in their great affliction.
