Former City Man Dies Suddenly as Plans to Return
Martin H. Ebert, 54, for many years a resident of Blackwell and community died suddenly at his home at Elllingwood, Kans, at 4am Saturday.
Mr. Ebert had been in ill health for the past year but was stricken a short time before his death.
He was born in Brown county, Kans, May 8, 1891 and his parents took a claim northwest of Blackwell at the opening of the Cherokee Strip.
Later, Mr Ebert moved to Blackwell and lived here until about three years ago when he moved to Ellingwood.
He was preparing to move to Blackwell at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Baptist church here.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna Ebert; two sons, Dorovan of St Joseph, MO and Joe of the home; four daughter, Mrs Denina Harris of Los Angeles, Mrs Gwendolyn Nicolet of Great Bend, Kans, Mrs Dauphine Ryan of Whichita and Cherry of the home, his parents Mr and Mrs J. R. Ebert, 512 West McKinley; three brothers, Ed, 514 West Oklahoma, Glen, who lives on East Bridge and Ola of Los Angeles; and six sisters, Mrs. Dean Richardson and Mrs. Billie Frost 214 West Frisco, Mrs. Veryl Wintermote of Wichita, Mrs. Pauline Mathews, Los Angeles, Mrs. J.R. Newkirk of Wellington and Mrs. Adriah Evans of Amarillo.
