Mae Belle Braly Ebert
May Belle Braly Ebert, daughter of Josiah Hammond Braly and Rhoda Ellendore Braly, was born in Atchison, Kans., March 1, 1869. She passed away in Blackwell, Okla. Oct 6, 1952 at the age of 83 years, 7 months, 5 days. She spent her early years in Brown county, Kans. She was married to Joseph R. Ebert Sept. 12, 1887. With her husband she came to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip and lived on the farm north west of Blackwell 20 years. After a short time in Caldwell Kans. they moved to Blackwell in 1917, where she lived until her death. In early girlhood she became a member of the Roy's Creek Baptist church in Brown county, Kans. She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Eastern Star in Blackwell. She was the last member of her father's and mothers family.
Two daughters and two sons preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Deane Richardson, Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Nannie Merle Newkirk, Wellington, Kans., Mrs. Veryl Looker, Wichita, Kans, Mrs. Pauline Mathews, Beuna Park, Calif., and Mrs. Adrah Evans, Farmington, New Mexico; three sons, Glen and Edison of Blackwell and Ola of Baldwin Park, Calif.
Also surviving are 39 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
