Obituary
On last Saturday
at 1 o’clock a. m. at the family residence in the west part of town
occurred the death of Mrs. Sarah M. Davis.
A little more than a month ago her husband, Mr. James H. Davis passed
away and she having been in very poor condition did not recover from the
shock of grief. Thursday she suffered a stroke of paralysis and gradually
sank away, until released by death.
Sarah M. Meyer was born in Oneida county, N. Y., July 13, 1843. Married
James H. Davis January 16, 1861. Three children were born unto, one dying
in infancy. Moved to Butler county, Kansas March 23, 1883.
At the town of Douglas, in 1887 they united with the Methodist Episcopal
church, 1901 they moved to Tonkawa, where she has since lived. She leaves
two children to mourn her loss Mrs. C. E. Huthins and Howard E. Davis
both of whom live here; and one grandson, Bailey, and one brother Enos
D. Myer of Onidea , N. Y.
The funeral services, conducted by Rev G. W. Irwin, where at the family
residence Sunday, at 11 o’clock a. m. the family doubly bereaved
in so short a time have the sympathy of the entire community in their
sorrow.
