A
child killed
The six-year old boy of a Mr. Davis, living about 10 miles southwest of
Blackwell, was mysteriously killed on Wednesday of last week.
The little fellow was missed sometime during the afternoon; as the evening
drew on the woman folks, there being no men at home at the time, became
alarmed and began a search for him. Failing to find him, they called in
the assistance of the neighbors, and just about sundown the little child
was found not far from the house lying upon his face, dead. There were
no marks or bruises about his person, except a small punctured hole in
the back of his head. The physician who was called to examine the wound
thought it was evidently caused by the point of a cows horn, as several
cattle were near where the body was found.
