CONSTANT- Died; Tuesday, May 26, 1908, Vera, the two years old daughters of Mr. and Mrs. E M. Constant, about three miles northeast of town. The cause of death is said to have been convulsions from overeating of cherries. The bereaved parents have the deep sympathy of many neighbors and friends Obituary How true it is that
“death loves a shining mark “. On May 26, without warning
the angel of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Constant and
claimed their only daughter, Vera, aged 1 year, 10 months and ten days.
The funeral services was conducted by Rev T. S. Hawley, pastor of the
Presbyterian church, from the residence, and the angel form was accompanied
by a large concourse of sympathetic friends to its last resting place
in the I.O.O.F cemetery, there to await the final summons of him who said
: “Suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom
of heaven. “ The snow white casket was literally covered with wreath
and garlands of flowers donated by loving friends, the last tokens of
love and esteem the living can pay to the dead. Fain would do more to
relieve the heart felt anguish of those bereaved parents, but words are
inadequate to still the tide of sorrow of those who mourn for departed
loved ones: but we must not forget that it is written: He doeth all things
well.” |
