DROWNED
IN SALT FORK
A distressing accident
near Nashville, in Grant county, Okla., last Saturday night, added three
more victims to the list of those who have lost their life in the Salt
Fork river.
A party of young people had accompanied W. H. Potter on a seining expedition,
and as all were making merry seining they stepped off into deep water,
and in their struggles to get to shore became enmeshed in the seine and
three of them were drowned. Mr. Potter rescued three of his children but
was unable to save all of them.
The dead are Caris Colwell, of Savannah, Mo., on a visit to his uncle,
Wilber Platt; Eliza Potter and Wilber Platt, the girl being a daughter
and Mr. Platt the son-in-law of Mr. Potter.
