DEATH OF MRS. BUTTS

Mrs. M. H. Butts died at the family residence, on West Blackwell avenue, Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. The lady had been in rather poor health for some time and last Sunday had a congestive chill, from which she never rallied. Dr. Emerson of Winfield was called in consultation with Dr. Lowery Tuesday evening, but the case seemed beyond human aid. Mrs. Butts was a lady of many excellent traits of character and was beloved by all who knew her. The family has been greatly afflicted, for in addition to the frail health of Mrs. Butts, one of the children has been an invalid for some time and is seriously sick at the present writing. An infant, two or three months old, is left motherless, and Mr. Butts is entitled to the sympathy of the many friends. The funeral was held from the Christian church this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Hilton of that church. The interment will be in Odd Fellows cemetery, south of the city.
