Ethel May Burt ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Ethel May Burt, resident of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Medicalodge East. She was 102. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City with the Rev. Steve Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, Okla. Visitation is today from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Ethel May Burt was born March 13, 1903, in Trimble, Mo., to Tillman and Ada Maude Kindred Fry. She was reared and educated in Newkirk and graduated Newkirk High School in 1920. She married Gerald Cecil White in 1920; she later married Ralph Burt on Sept. 27, 1974, in Arkansas City. She worked many years as a clerk at Shanks' Grocery Store in Arkansas City. Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Hicks of Sun City, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Delores McGlassen; stepson, Donald Burt; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband in 1973; her second husband in 1992; a son, Gerald C. White Jr.; and a daughter, Phyllis Jensen. |
