Died: -- Dr. C. G. Elliott reports the death of J. C. Burns, at the residence of L Thompson, 4 miles east of Blackwell, Wednesday morning, September 30, at 1:00 a.m. Deceased lived in the southwest part of the county near Alert, and was on his way to Arkansas City. He had camped near the Thompson Farm, and in lifting his wagon hurt himself internally from the effects of which he died. His wife and brother were notified of his injury and were with him at the deathbed. The remains will be shipped to his former home, at Rich Hill Missouri.
