Former
Poncan’s Rites Due Saturday
Funeral services will
be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lynwood, Calif., for Mrs. Freeman Burkman, 70,
who until seven years ago made her home in Ponca City and the Longwood
Community.
Mrs. Burkman, the former Anna Wealand, died Thursday at Lynwood. When
a small child she moved with her parents to the Longwood area. She was
married on Nov. 0, 1910, to Freeman Burkman, who died in March 1955.
A year later Mrs. Burkman suffered a stroke and had been an invalid since
that time.
Surviving her are two sons, Garnet, Fullerton, Calif., and Bill, Santa
Paula, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. John Martin, Blackfoot, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Homer Wheeler,
418 South Fifth and Mrs. Al Wealand, 3081/2 South Fourth; and numerous
nephews and nieces.
