A
Soldier’s Funeral
Friday’s
Daily.
The funeral of W. R. Bryant, the old soldier, who died at his home on
south Main street, Thursday morning, took place this afternoon from Kyger’s
undertaking establishment. The funeral was conducted by Private Soldier
Post No. 62, G. A. R., who turned out in force and escorted the remains
of their deceased comrade to their last resting place. At the grave the
G. A. R. funeral ceremonies under the direction of Post Commander Lawson
were very solemn and impressive. When the last shovel full of dirt had
been thrown into the grave and the benediction had been pronounced, a
firing squad from Company D under the command of Corporal O. E. Shupe,
gave the old soldier a parting salute, and “left him alone in his
glory.”
Card
of Thanks
We take
this method of thanking our many friends and neighbors for their kindness
and generosity in assisting us in the sickness of our husband and father.
Especially do we thank the Grand Army of the Republic for their tender
services in assisting in the last rites attending his burial.
Mrs. W. R. Bryant and Family.
