G.A.R. RESOLUTIONS

Edward L. Barnes was born in Warren County, West Virginia, Oct. 15, 1826 and died in this city Nov. 5,1902 aged 76 years and 10 days. He joined Private Solider Post No. 62, of this city January 1st, 1898, and was a member in good standing at the time of his death. The committee named by the Post at its last meeting offers the following resolution on the death of their comrade.


RESOLUTIONS

Whereas the Supreme Commander in His wisdom has seen fit to summon our comrade to answer to the death roll call on the other shore and to whose will we must reverently bow. Therefore be it, resolved, that in the death of Comrade Edward L. Barnes, this post has lost a worthy member, the city and territory a loyal citizen and a valiant solider, his family, an affectionate husband and a kind and indulgent father, and to them we tender our kindly sympathy and condolence.
Resolved, that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this Post and a copy sent to the relatives and family and a copy be, furnished the papers.
