Baker
Little
Grace Baker the second daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Chas. Baker of West Blackwell
avenue died at the home of her parent’s early last Sabbath morning.
From the time of her birth the child had been in a state of delicate health
but during the past summer her health so improved that her parents and
friends were led into the hope that she would yet become strong and vigorous.
A week ago, however, she contracted a severe cold but nothing serious
was apprehended until late Saturday evening when marked symptoms of congestion
set in and death resulted a few hours later.
Grace was born July 22, 1897. She was a sweet affectionate child greatly
beloved by those among whom she moved. Her delicate health had made her
shy and deeply sensitive and this possibly all the more served to bind
her close to her parents and friends.
The funeral was held at 3 o’clock on Monday afternoon conducted
by Rev. Jas. Craighead and the little form were followed to the cemetery
by a number of sympathizing friends.
“Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not
for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
