ACCIDENTALLY SHOT
Glenn W. Baily Kills Himself With a Twenty-Two Caliber Rifle.

G. W. Baily a young man who was well known in Blackwell, on Sunday, July 31, accidentally shot and killed himself at Gotebo, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. Mr. Baily drew a claim in the new country and had gone there to live. On the Sunday mentioned, he with the rest of the family went to spend the day at the home of L. C. Adkison’s. In the afternoon young Baily was handling a 22 caliber rifle, showing how it worked etc. He placed the muzzle against his stomach and was tinkering with the lock, when the gun was accidentally discharged the bullet entering his stomach just below the waistband. Efforts to locate the bullet were unavailing, and on Wednesday following the shooting it was discovered that gangrene had set in, and the doctor saw that he could not recover. He died at 6 o’clock the same evening, and his funeral took place Friday, August 5.
Young Baily worked in Fred Reed’s barber shop in this city, when Mr. Reed kept on the west side of Main street, and remained there until he drew a claim, when he went to the new country. He was a popular young man and many friends regret his untimely death.
