At his home in this
city, Saturday, May 27, William Henry Aidrich, at the age of 60 years,
7 months and 26 days.
Mr. Aldrich was born in Rome, Michigan, October 1, 1844. His boyhood was
spent in his native town until in 1862 he enlisted in the 5th Michigan
cavalry, in which regiment he served until the close of the war. He was
wounded in the battle of the Wilderness.
After the war he resided in McLain county, Illinois, where he was married,
December 24, 1878, to Miss Nancy E. Benjamin, whom he now leaves a widow.
To this union were born four children; Lloyd I., Maud K., Chas. A., (who
died in infancy) and Harry L.
In 1880 he moved to Cass county Iowa, where he resided until 1893 when
he came to Kay county and settled near Ponca City. In January, 1901, he
moved to Tonkawa, where he resided until the time of his death.
