WELCOME
Pioneer Genealogical Society welcomes those interested in discussion and exchange of information about genealogy. Our purpose is to study methods available to members for genealogical research and to develop and maintain ancestral records and family charts. Informative programs, workshops and other events are presented for the genealogist. PGS collects and preserves both genealogical and related historical materials for public use. These materials are available in the Genealogy Room of the Ponca City Public Library

Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest are both available free of charge at the Ponca City Library computer center.
Time is limited to two hours a day.
Please call 580-767-0345 to make appointment for the computer time
[There is no charge to library card holders or those with proof of Ponca City residence.
Non-residents must pay a small one dollar fee.]

Kay County Pioneer Registration

The Pioneer Certificate project was created to honor the pioneers who made the run on September 16, 1893 into the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma Territory or settled in Kay County before 1907-statehood.

Meetings

The society meets the first Monday of the month
in the Programming Room of the
Ponca City Library at 7 PM
[No meetings July - August]
Executive Board meetings are held on the same day in the
Ponca City Library Board Room at 5:30 PM

Visitors are always Welcome to attend the regular monthly meetings and enjoy our programs. See Projects/Events for the current program schedule.
