The 101 Ranch employed thousands throughout northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas as well as drawing cowboys and ranch hands from all over the southwest. Easterners were fascinated with the Wild West or at least the version of the dime novels. Writers, scientists, artists and the simply curious lent themselves to the mystic of the great 101 Ranch.
