Former 101 Ranch Couple

A former 101 Ranch foreman, Robert L. Bullard, and Mrs. Bullard observed their seventy-first wedding anniversary Dec. 23 in Russell, Kan. The event was celebrated at an open house Dec. 18 at Parkside Manor in Russell, where the couple resides. The Bullards came to the 101 Ranch in 1923 and resided at the “summer camp” near the White House. They later lived in the Marland and Bressie areas where Bullard was connected with the Miller interests.
In 1937 the couple moved to Milwaukee, Wis. were Bullard was employed until he retired. Six years ago the bullards moved to Russell.
Mrs. Bullard, the former Elizabeth Schultz, was born in Omaha, Neb. in 1889. When she was 17, she and Bullard were married in Hammon, Okla. Bullard was born in Texas in 1884. After their marriage, the couple lived in Texas and went to Colorado in a covered wagon with four children in 1916. They had eight children, all of whom are living. Attending the reception were three daughters, Frieda Wiltse and Dorothy Robar, both of Russell, and Lavon Luko of Milwaukee. Their other children are Clarence of Topeka, Conley of Milwaukee, Tom of Dallas, Jack of Byron, Wis. and Joann Pichler of Wind Lake Wis.
The Bullards have 33 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
